Ever-changing LA quintet
The original line-up for The Iron Maidens consisted of guitarists Josephine Draven and Sara Marsh, drummer Linda McDonald, bassist Melanie Sisneros, and front woman Jenny Warren, the latter two having previously performed together in another Iron Maiden tribute act, Wrathchild RVA. Founded in Los Angeles in 2001, the quintet spent several years establishing themselves on the tribute circuit before heading into the studio to record their 2005 debut album, "World’s Only Female Tribute to Iron Maiden." By this point, Sisneros and Warren had been replaced by Wanda Ortiz and Aja Kim, respectively. The merry-go-round continued in 2007, the same year the band released sophomore album "Route 666," when Heather Baker took over bass duties from Draven. Baker and Kim then left following the 2008 LP "The Root of All Evil," with Courtney Cox and Kirsten Rosenberg taking their places. McDonald was left as the only founding member in 2011 when Marsh was replaced by Nita Strauss and Nikki Stringfield soon after. You can buy and sell The Iron Maidens tickets on StubHub.
Thunderous beats, powerful vocals, head-banging hits
As evidenced by their 2010 DVD "Metal Gathering Tour Live in Japan," The Iron Maidens are every bit as commanding on the stage as the all-male band they pay tribute to. Lead vocalist Kirsten Rosenberg certainly gives Charles Bruce Dickinson a run for his money as she powers her way through the new wave of British heavy metal pioneers’ canon of head-banging hits. Drummer McDonald can match Nicko McBrain with her thrilling and thunderous beats, while Cox and Stringfield lead a dual guitar attack just as strong as Dave Murry and Adrian Smith’s. Fans should look forward to hearing the group’s distinctive take on various Iron Maiden classics, including "Can I Play with Madness," "Run to the Hills," "The Number of the Beast," and their surprise UK number one single, "Bring Your Daughter… to the Slaughter." And it wouldn’t be an Iron Maiden tribute show without an homage to the band’s famous mascot, and The Iron Maidens’ Edwina T. Head doesn’t disappoint on that front either. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to see one of the metal world’s leading tribute acts, and take a look at The Iron Maidens tickets now on sale at StubHub.
