Parcels' rise to the top
The debut Parcels EP Hideout was released in January and quickly caught the attention of many big names in the music industry. The record was also named as one of the hottest sounds of the year by the likes of The Guardian, Clash, Noisey and Wonderland. In its review, The Guardian say: 'The Aussie band, now living in Berlin, make immaculately polished MOR pop that would sound at home in the company of Chic or 70s-era Fleetwood Mac.' High praise indeed. Parcels are known for their high production qualities and computer-generated sounds, with keyboardist and singer Hetherington saying that the clarity of session bands like The Wrecking Clue was a big influence on Parcels' music, meaning that every note is thought out and practised before being played. In fact, the group's unstoppable groove was so refreshing that it caught the attention of two legends of the genre; Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. Daft Punk produced and then remixed the Parcels single "Overnight". Since then, Parcels have collaborated with huge artists like Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder and recently with Canadian star The Weekend. The Australian band also have well over 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify. So, get on the trend train and buy Parcels concert tickets now.
