Montpellier Herault Sport Club is a football club from Montpellier, a city in France. Montpellier was founded in the mid-seventies. The team has been nicknamed as "MHSC" and "La Pailade". Montpellier was originally founded almost one hundred years ago in the early twentieth century, but was then merged with another club again in the seventies to form the current Montpellier team. The original name of Montpellier was Stade Olympique Montpellierain. The club of Montpellier was one of the clubs responsible for bringing about the first level of the French football association.
