Ludovico Einaudi: Background Information
Ludovico Einaudi was born in Turin, Italy in 1955, and began composing as a teenager. He later studied at the Conservatorio Verdi in Milan. Following his conservatoire education, Ludovico Einaudi spent years composing in traditional musical forms. It was not until the mid 1980s that he began to experiment and search for a more unique voice of his own: an ambient, meditative mix with influences from contemporary pop and minimalism which has become his signature, introspective sound that endears him to sell out audiences.
Ludovico Einaudi's Big Achievements
Ludovico Einaudi began composing film soundtracks in the mid 1990s, and has received several awards for his work. His first ventures onto the big screen were with two films by Michele Sordillo, the second of which, Acquario, (1996) won Ludovico Einaudi the Grolla d'oro award for best soundtrack. In 2000, he composed the soundtrack for Fuori del mondo, which was nominated for an Oscar and which won the Echo Klassik award in 2002 in Germany.
