Born Kesha Rose Sebert, Kesha (Ke$ha) began her music career in 2005 at the prime age of eighteen, laying down background vocals and writing songs for music publishing company, “Prescription Songs”. In this time she wrote for Paris Hilton’s single “Nothing in This World” and Australia’s very own The Veronicas’ single “This Love”. Kesha also featured in friend and established pop singer Katy Perry’s single “I kissed a Girl”, and laid down backing vocals for Britney Spears’ “Lace and Leather”. Her first major breakthrough came when she featured on Flo Rida’s hit single “Right Hound” in 2009.
While working to survive, Kesha made her living working as a waitress, the dollar sign in Ke$ha was incorporated into her stage name as an ironic gesture. Kesha’s attribution to Flo Rida’s hit single remained anonymous, with her refusing to make an appearance in the video. The singer/songwriter’s debut album Animal soon followed, with supporting single “TiK ToK” becoming the most song single in history by a female solo artist! Following singles from the album such as “Blah Blah Blah”, “Your Love Is My Drug” and “Take It Off” each experienced similar success, with Animal going straight to Billboard’s number one in their top two hundred. Featuring fourteen of the best tracks from Kesha’s two hundred written songs, “Animal” was regarded as both fun and cheeky by critics with the album having gone double platinum here in Australia!

Kesha has been labelled sexy, seductive, funny and quirky all of which accounts to her charm and while many critics may underestimate her talent and drive, we at StubHub can’t get enough of her!
