All about Iron & Wine
This acoustic genius has amassed fans from Mexico to L.A. and with good reason! While he is mostly known as Iron & Wine, Sam Beam actually found his moniker from a dietary supplement called "Beef, Iron & Wine". The American singer-songwriter started his music career from the comfort of his own bedroom, where he recorded the song "Dead Man's Will" and started making demos. One of them reached Sub Pop Records co-owner Jonathan Poneman, who was mesmerised by the lo-fi recordings.
The Creek Drank the Cradle (2002) is Iron & Wine's debut album, which was shortly followed up with the home-recorded EP The Sea & The Rhythm (2003). While both albums have received many positive reviews and have been compared to those of Elliot Smith, Simon and Garfunkel and Neil Young, the lack of studio quality was noticeable. With this in mind, Iron & Wine released Our Endless Numbered Days (2004), Sam Beam's first full-length studio album. This release, as well as Sam Beam's cover of The Postal Service's "Such Great Heights", saw Iron & Wine rise to prominence. Multiple albums later, Iron & Wine concert tickets have become hot property. So don't hesitate, browse StubHub and purchase your 2018 Iron & Wine tickets to see what this talented musician has to offer.
Iron & Wine music style
Having a background in Arts and film, Iron & Wine can boast of a particular and individual style which includes multiple instruments like acoustic guitars, a slide guitar and a banjo, and uses the recording of ambient sounds to give songs a special feel. However, each album features a completely different style, ranging from 70s radio-friendly albums like Kiss Each Other Clean (2011) to R&B and Jazz-influenced Ghost on Ghost (2013).
With top songs like "Time After Time" and "Naked As We Came", Sam Beam has enjoyed consistent praise and has become a steady bellwether of the burgeoning indie alt-folk music scene. Having collaborated with Calexico - resulting in the EP In the Reins (2005) -, Iron & Wine has gained a reputation for being best seen live. Indeed, with the occasional aid of a backup band, Iron & Wine performances tend to be intimate and unique, which is why they're so sought for! At StubHub you can find Iron & Wine tickets, that is, if you're fast enough!
