Florida rapper's rise to the top
Born Tramar Lacel Dillard in Florida, on September 17, 1979. As a teenager, Flo Rida toured with 2 Live Crew's Fresh Kid Ice and began to appear on numerous mixtapes, most notably DJ Khaled's Bitch I'm From Dade County (which also featured the likes of Rick Ross and Trick Daddy). Signing to the Atlantic-affiliated Poe Boy, Flo Rida released his debut album Mail on Sunday and released the enormously successful "Low" as the lead single from the album. 9 months after the release of Mail on Sunday, Flo Rida began recording his second album and released R.O.O.T.S. (route of overcoming the struggle) in 2009 and lead single "Right Round" went to the top of the charts, introducing the world to Kesha in the process. His later albums had a much more dance-oriented feel, cementing his role as the number 1 party rapper. Only 1 Flo, Pt 1 featured song produced by EDM stars like Axwell and David Guetta. 2012's massive album Wild Ones continued this trend and contained production work from the likes of Avicii and Dr Luke. The album contained three of the biggest Flo Rida songs to date - "Good Feeling", "Whistle" and "Wild Ones".
