Formed in 2012, the DMA'S members are Johnny Took, Tommy O'Dell and Matt Mason. The band came together when members of local rock band Underlights (Took & O'Dell) began writing songs with Matt Mason. All three members of the band are songwriters and they soon developed a sound that harkened back to the days of Brit Pop and Manchunian rock. Channeling the likes of Oasis, Primal Scream, the Stone Roses and Happy Mondays. Gaining almost instant popularity after the release of their home-recorded demos, DMA'S signed to the independent record label I Oh You and, soon after, released their debut single "Delete". Notably, the band have received praise from Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher. The often outspoken singer recently gave them a pat on the back and said "I don't know much about Australian music, I know there's that band DMAs, I went to see them a couple of weeks ago, and I like what I see... Man, they got some good tunes in there". As Oasis were one DMA'S key influences when they started, this is high praise indeed. DMA'S have released two albums. In 2014, following the release of the single "Delete", the group released their self-titled PE. The debut DMA'S album Hills End was released in 2016 and peaked at number 8 on the Australian albums chart as well as charting in the UK and the Netherlands. The album featured 12 great DMA'S songs and their track "Play It Out" was featured on the popular video game FIFA 17. The first track from the new DMA'S album "Dawning" was revealed in October 2017. The new album For Now is due to hit shelves in April 2018, but in the meantime you can listen to new tracks like "In The Air", "Dawning" and "Believe".
